Welcome to my little shop!

An artist at heart and lover of all things design, I've spent most of my adult life immersed in the fashion industry. After graduating from design school, I had the opportunity to work in many facets of the industry - from trend forecasting, illustrating for menswear, a technical designer for an intimates/apparel company and most recently as an apparel design contractor. It was this season in my life that I truly became knowledgeable in the area of product design, pattern-making and production.

But it was when I became a mother that I felt my creative spark had been reignited. I found myself wanting to create one-of-a-kind pieces for my children. Timeless products using traditional craftsmanship that sparked their imagination. I noticed the style of products I liked were only available in Europe or were incredibly expensive. So I decided to start making them myself. And I had so much fun doing it. It started with unique bedding and custom bibs to wool hand puppets, soft play books and then dolls. When I made my daughter her first doll, the sweetest smile came across her face. She hugged it tightly and softly said, “Pretty, pretty!” That quiet moment with my daughter sealed the deal. Over the next few years I continued to make handmade treasures for my children, and other children, with their needs in mind. I wanted to provide unique keepsakes that were affordable without sacrificing the quality. When friends and family started requesting soft toys for their little ones I realized this had become more than just a hobby. I truly enjoyed what I was doing. It warmed my heart to see that other people appreciated the idea of handcrafted products as much as I did.

In 2016 I launched Pretty, Pretty out of my home office, with 2 toddlers, pregnant with my third and a full-time job. It wasn't always easy, but once I took a leap of faith and followed my passion the response was overwhelming. With every product I create, I try to apply the the design skills I learned in the industry and combine it with the playful and whimsical inspiration I get from my kids everyday. I now run my business full-time, still in my home studio with my 3 little ones often running around. I love that they can be a part of this journey with me.

My wish is that these handmade treasures are loved through every tea party, sleepover, bedtime story and, eventually, passed on to the next generation.

With love and appreciation,
